Joseph Servais was born in Halle in 1850 as the youngest son of Adrien Francois and Sophie. He grew up in a musical family and came into contact with numerous artists, musicians and poets who were at home with the Servais family. Like his father, he became a leading cello virtuoso and performed all over Europe. at 21ste he became a popular cello teacher at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. Joseph died at Villa Servais in 1885.
