We are happy to welcome you in our cozy tearoom. Take a seat at one of the tables or in the seating areas and travel through the inspiring world of François Servais. In sunny weather, our very spacious terrace in the newly landscaped garden is open.
Tea
During his lifetime, cello virtuoso François Servais regularly went on to give concerts in different countries. In our tearoom you will find an assortment of teas that gives a clear nod to his many travels through the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, Russia, France, Austria and his fascination with Japan. The tea selection was carefully composed by Ann Vansteenkiste of Curiosithee . This tea sommelier is a herbalist by training and is happy to share her passion for tea with you. Enjoy the subtle flavors and harmonious blends.
Afternoon Tea
In our tearoom we like to focus on the tradition of afternoon tea. Did you know that this custom has been established among the British population since 1840, the period in which Villa Servais was built. Queen Victoria of Great Britain usually did not want to wait for dinner to be served and had a small meal prepared in the afternoon of bread, butter, whipped cream, biscuits and cake. She invited her friends to enjoy all those goodies. The concept of afternoon tea was born.
In our tearoom we serve you a menu that consists of three parts. We start with a trio of traditional sandwiches, followed by homemade scones with whipped cream and jam. Finally, we end with an assortment of homemade pastries.
Misia Bord
Do you fancy something sweet? For that there is the Misia dessert plate with again the coffee or many kinds of tea.
Make it extra festive with a glass of Champagne Sandrin Villa Servais or Oude Geuze of the house. In addition to our own blends, we also serve some regional beers and wines.
Practical info
Reserve a table for Sunday afternoon tea between 2pm and 6pm. We work by reservation only to accommodate you in the best possible way. On Saturdays, we organise afternoon tea for groups of 25 people or more.
The price for afternoon tea with homemade snacks and a fine selection of tea or coffee is 35 euros per person. The Misia dessert plate costs 10 euros pp. Coffee or tea is always included. Would you rather have a piece of cake of the day? Which can!
